My 3th Doctor's appointment

Today I weighed 3950 gram and my length was 53 cm. Besides having a runny nose Thanks to my Mommy who is sick) I'm growing like a champ.
In 1 month I have to get my first shots OOOOHHHH.....

My First Trip To Banda Bou

First of all today is my Aunt Olguita's b--day I wish her a happy birthday and many more years.

Today I went to Banda Bou for the first time to visit my Uncle Peter & Aunt Carolyn who are visiting from Holland. I had lots of fun. I sat the whole evening in the garden with Grandpa Arthur and enjoyed it sooo much I didn't even want to wake up to eat.

Afterwards I sat inside with my Grandma Magda.

My 1st Consultation Visit

Today I had my first consultation visit. My Grandma Magda went with us. I weighed 3840 gram and my length was 51 cm. YAPS I'm growing to be as tall as my Daddy is.
The nurse gave my Mommy lots of info. I have to get my first shots wonder how painful that will be....but I'll keep you posted

My First Visitors

Today my Auntie Yvette, Auntie Aftan, Antie Chita, Catherine, Uncle E-J, Sidney and A-J came to visit me. Grandma Magda had a watchfull eye on me :).

Auntie Aftan was the first person to carry me she handled me like a real pro. I was amazed at her earrings. When Auntie Yvette & Auntie Chita carried me I fell asleep like a little angel.I was on my best behavior and everybody was crazy about me.

My 2nd Doctor's Appointment

Today we went to Dr Faries and she called me a "pittig mannetje". I weighed 2960 gr and my length was 48,5 cm. My weight and length were as they should be. My appetite is so good that I can drink max 90 cc. I can even get some formula.

My animals

I already have my own guard dog who is Jack. He follows my from the outside of the house every where I am. If Mommy is f.e. doing the laundry and I'm crying he runs to her and keeps jumping around till she comes to check on me, if I'm getting my diaper changed he keeps jumping against the wall to try to get a glance at me. Who else do you know has a guard dog like him...nobobody!!

On the rancho I have a lot of animals. I have 6 dogs and 4 horses.
My parents are hoping that I will love horses as much as they do. My daddy hopes I wont become as "crazy" as my Mommy is with them :)

In due time Mommy will put pics of them on the blog.

My 1st Doctor's Appointment

On Febr 25th I went to my first appointment with Dr Faries. I weight 2570 gr and grew 0,5 cm. Dr Faries did some tests with me and everthing was ok. She was very happy with my progress and the way my parents are taking care of me. I have to go to the fysio this is something that they do with all premature babies the last few years.

I have a very good appetite. I have to drink 8 times a day 60cc. My parents have changed my eating pattern 3 days now and I'm much happier. Every 2 or 3 hours when I wake up they give me to drink approx 80cc If I'm full with this I quiet and fall asleep. During the day I sleep and and at night I love to stay awake with my Daddy poor him he looks like a zombie these days.

Mommy pressured Daddy to finish my room but I sleep in their room due to my feeding times. (good excuse huh)
My favourite place to fall asleep and sleep is on my parents chest. The moment they move I make a noise. My Mommy did the same thing with Grandpa Arthur so now she is feeling what she did to him when she was a baby.

February 18th 2009

Today I'm 36 weeks old and am going home!! My weight is 2370 grm and I'm 47 cm long.

My parents were at the clinic at 3:30 pm they changed me into nice clothes and I was ready to leave. The nurses give my parents a list of what to do and not to do. Mommy looks a little nervous thank God Daddy has experience with kids.

This picture was taken on my first ride in the car. I slept the whole way home. We surprised myGrandparents Betist with my arrival home.

February 4th 2009

After a lot of thinking and deliberating my parents came up with my name Xandro Arthur Melvin Varlack. Arthur because my Granpda is the best and proudest. And of course my third name is my daddy's.

Meaning of my name:

My birth

Tuesday Febr 3th 2009 at 10 am my Mommy's water broke. She was going crazy seeing I was expected at least 6 weeks from today.
We went to the gyno who immediately told us to go the clinic. When we got there the nurse wheeled us in and asked us how far along we were. We said 33 weeks and 6 days. She said Ohoh the Neo Unit is full so you will have to go to Colombia or Venezuela. Well by then my Mommy was ready to explode from the nerves. They put us in a room and hooked us up to a CTG. We had 2 contractions so they gave us pills to try and stop them. Daddy stayed with us till around 8 pm. At 9:45 pm we were hooked up to the CTG and we had 4 contractions. Around 10:15 pm Dr Christiaan was at our bedside telling Mommy that we had to have a c-section. Daddy was back at the hospital but because it was late he could not go in with us. To make a long story short I arrived at 23:21, weighed 2250 gr and 47 cm long. I let out a hard cry so my Mommy was happy.
I had to go into the High Care Neo Unit. When the nurses wheeled out Mommy from the OR Daddy immediately asked for me. They had walked me to the Neo Natal Unit from within so Daddy had not seen me yet. He gave Mommy a kiss and rushed to check on me.
Mommy had a lot of pain so she slept after the operation.
